<p>Predation may impact conservation outcomes in pond-breeding amphibians. We explored the use of camera traps (CT) to detect and identify predators of the common toad <i>Bufo bufo</i> during the spawning period. Several potential predators of adult amphibians were observed, including the raccoon <i>Procyon lotor</i>, an invasive species in Europe. Repeated predation attempts were detected for two bird species, the common buzzard <i>Buteo buteo</i> and the tawny owl <i>Strix aluco</i> and we concluded that they identified the congregating amphibians as a food source. The utilisation of CT can provide insights into local predators of amphibians and their foraging behaviour. However, predation is likely underestimated by CT data, preventing an informed appraisal of predation pressure. Knowledge about the presence and behaviour of predators at specific breeding sites could support conservation efforts and measures to mitigate predation if necessary.</p>
