<p>Tropospheric ozone negatively affects to plant and human health worldwide and plays a&#xa0;key role in regional climate change. Ozone precursor gases help in the formation of tropospheric ozone. Ozone enters into the plant through stomatal opening and causes overproduction of ROS, cellular damage, affects the plants’ growth and development, which reduces agricultural yield and altering quality of crop. This review article focuses on ozone pollution scenario and its effect on agricultural crops in Indian prospective. According to obtained data from previous research, the ozone pollution in Indian cities varies from 10&#xa0;to 85 ppb. The relatively estimated yield loss across the India vary between 3.8–41% due to ozone. Due to seasonal and geographical variations, there is a&#xa0;significant spatial variance in ozone distribution and concentration in different Indian cities. Therefore, the management of ozone pollution and its effect on plants will be a&#xa0;critical task for researchers. Various researches conducted related to ozone pollution and its effect on agricultural plants have found that the effects are ozone dose and plant age dependent. These studies confirm that the ozone pollution caused harmful effect on plants. Despite that, the identification of main mechanism of ozone effects on plant will be a&#xa0;better tool for sustainable agriculture. The assessment of the ozone effects on agriculture cultivars and its defense mechanism or selection of ozone tolerant cultivars will be an important tool for future agricultural sustainability. This article will help to promote future research matters in the ozone-prone region.</p>
