<p>Understanding of flowering mechanism and economic traits are essential for effective crop management, as these factors directly influence the fruit yield and quality. This study aimed to examine the floral phenology and changes in physico-chemical composition of fruit during various stages of growth and development in seven avocado accessions. Initially, 46&#xa0;accessions were selected, and after preliminary assessments, best seven accessions were chosen for detailed investigation. Flowers of these avocado plants were tagged and continuously monitored to record the flowering behaviour. The results indicated that avocado flowers exhibited synchronous dichogamy, with individual bisexual flowers functioning alternately as male and female on successive days. Further, fruit weight, length, width, volume, total carbohydrates, protein and fat contents were increased, whereas specific gravity (≤ 1.00), shape index, titratable acidity (TA) and total soluble solids (TSS) decreased as the fruit developed. Significant changes in physical attributes and higher accumulation of dry matter, protein and fat content were observed in most of the accessions between 60&#xa0;to 150 days after fruit set (DAFS). These results provide valuable insights for avocado growers, breeders, and the scientific community and serve as important tools for the development of new cultivars with improved yield and fruit quality.</p>
