<p><i>Xanthomonas citri</i> subsp. <i>citri </i>is the causal agent citrus bacterial canker, which is major disease of <i>Citrus </i>spp. In order to study the variability of bacterium with respect to epidemiological factors, nine isolates of the pathogen was collected in subtropical areas from different species of citrus and were <i>in vitro </i>studied for epidemiological traits of pathogen and epidemiology of the disease was also studied. <i>Citrus aurantifolia </i>(K.&#xa0;lime) nursery was under periodical observation. The findings exhibited considerable amount of variability in the bacterium with respect to epidemiological factors. Leaf pin prick was best inoculation method with shortest (4.18 days) incubation period, temperature of 25–35 °C and relative humidity above 80% was congenial for the disease development under <i>in vitro </i>conditions. During periodical observation of the <i>Citrus aurantifolia </i>nursery at College of Horticulture and Forestry, Neri (Hamirpur) from June, 2021 to May, 2023. we found more prevalence of citrus canker in August month which was significantly and positively correlated with average monthly temperature, relative humidity and cumulative monthly rainfall and all these factors were influencing disease incidence and severity up to 90.48 and 80.51%, respectively PCA and cluster analysis revealed two components (PC1 and PC2) indicating 91.55% variance with rainy months (June-September) being the high risk months for the occurrence of disease.</p>
