<p>Wild pomegranate (<i>Punica granatum</i>&#xa0;L.) is an important fruit species in Jammu division, India, valued for its medicinal and nutritional properties. However, its yield and quality are significantly affected by various fungal and bacterial pathogens, leading to substantial economic losses. This study aimed to identify and report key fungal pathogens associated with wild pomegranate fruits collected from different regions of Jammu division. In a&#xa0;field surveys conducted in 2023–2024 and a&#xa0;total of 576 symptomatic pomegranate fruit samples were collected from four districts of Jammu division. The fungal pathogens <i>Aspergillus niger</i>, <i>Alternaria alternata</i>, <i>Penicillium implicatum</i> and the associated insect pest <i>Deudorix isocrates</i> damaging these fruits were identified. These pathogens were identified based on their morphological and cultural characteristics. Effective management strategies, including proper post-harvest handling and bio-control measures, are essential to mitigate losses and ensure fruit quality. Further research is needed to develop integrated disease management approaches for its sustainable production.</p>
