<p>The primary use of mulberry is as food for silkworms; however, it is a&#xa0;versatile tree crop with many other applications. The fruit of mulberry plant is in great demand due to its health benefits, and it can also be processed into different products. One of the important properties of mulberries is their antioxidant efficacy. In the current work, fruit from the ‘Ensatakasuke,’ ‘Kanva‑2,’ ‘Botatul,’ ‘Rokokuyaso,’ and ‘Kokuso-21’ mulberry genotypes was evaluated for biochemical and antioxidant activity. Total soluble sugars (TSS) were determined from these different genotypes: ‘Ensatakasuke’ showed the highest TSS (19.2 % mg/ml), followed by ‘Kanva-2’ (18.6 % mg/ml). Total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and total anthocyanin content (TAC) were also evaluated. The results showed that among these five genotypes, ‘Ensatakasuke’ has highest TPC (16.51 ± 0.52), TFC (2.32 ± 0.02), and TAC (14.5 ± 0.4) in mg/g dry weight. Antioxidant activity was also evaluated using DPPH and FRAP assays, and the results showed that ‘Ensatakasuke’ has the highest DPPH free radical-scavenging (85.12 ± 2.08) and FRAP (40.8 ± 2.1) activity (mg vitamin&#xa0;C equivalents/g of dry weight). From these results, it can be outlined that the fruit of ‘Ensatakasuke’ exhibits strong antioxidant efficacy, highlighting its potential for further biological and functional research.</p>
