Cherry slugworm is an important species that is harmful to the leaves of fruit species such as cherry, sour cherry, pear, etc. Its larvae cause damage by feeding on the upper epidermis of the leaf. This study was carried out in sour cherry and cherry orchards in the Eastern and Southeastern regions of Anatolia of Türkiye between 2021 and 2023 to determine the distribution, population development, adult flight period, infestation and damage rate of cherry slugworm, Caliroa cerasi. As a result of the study, the pest was found to be distributed in sour cherry orchards in the central and Çayırlı Districts of Erzincan Province, in cherry orchards in the central, Aralık, Karakoyunlu and Tuzluca Districts of Iğdır Province and in cherry orchards in the central and Yeşilli Districts of Mardin Province. It was found that the adult and pre-adult populations were higher in Çayırlı District of Erzincan Province compared to the central district; in nature, the adult populations increased between the first week of May and the first week of July (green fruit period). It was found that the first adults of C. cerasi generally emerged from the first week of May (green fruit period) and ended in the second week of September, and the flight period of adults in nature was 99–131 days. It was also found that the average infestation rate in Erzincan Province was 13.58%, with damage rates of between 2 and 2.4% in central Erzincan District and 60.33–70.33% in Çayırlı District.
