<p>The current study assessed the impact of preharvest putrescine application on the yield and quality attributes of mango fruit. Aqueous solutions (1,&#xa0;2, 3, 4 mM) of putrescine were sprayed on fully grown trees of mango cv. ‘Dashehari’ at 14&#xa0;and 7&#xa0;days before harvest. Results of the study revealed that in comparison to control, plants sprayed with 3 mM putrescine 14&#xa0;days before harvest recorded the maximum fruit weight (183.71 g), fruit length (9.65 cm), fruit breadth (5.51 cm), and fruit yield (93.48 kg/tree). Also, the maximum firmness (80.54 N), acidity (1.80%), antioxidant activity (90.51%), along with minimum total soluble solids (11.16°Brix), reducing sugars (1.40%), total sugars (7.50%), β‑carotene content (1.50 mg/100 g), L*&#xa0;(26.77), a*&#xa0;(−9.60) and b*&#xa0;value (16.73) were achieved with 3 mM putrescine (14&#xa0;days before harvest). The study suggested that applying 3 mM putrescine (14&#xa0;days before harvest) effectively enhanced mango yield and quality traits and underscores the potential as a&#xa0;promising agricultural bioregulator for improving mango fruit quality.</p>
