<p>An investigation was conducted to evaluate the effect of post-harvest application of edible coatings, i.e., carboxy methylcellulose (CMC; 1.0,&#xa0;1.5, and 2%) and chitosan (0.5,&#xa0;1.0, and 1.5%), on fruit quality attributes of ‘Kinnow’ mandarin stored at 24 ± 1 °C and 65 ± 5% relative humidity (RH) for up to 20&#xa0;days. Quality attributes such as weight loss, spoilage, juice content, firmness, soluble solids concentration, titratable acidity, ascorbic acid content, total phenolics, total antioxidant activity, total flavonoids, total carotenoids, and organoleptic sensory attributes were measured. Overall, CMC (1.5%) was judged as the best coating treatment amongst all effectively maintained fruit quality attributes of ‘Kinnow’ mandarin stored for up to 16&#xa0;days under ambient storage conditions (24 ± 1 °C and 65 ± 5% RH).</p>
