<p>Armored scales, scale insects and aphids in the suborder Sternorrhyncha are species with piercing-sucking mouthparts. These species infest various plant structures and feed on sap, leading to fumagine formation. They also contain many vector species that transmit plant diseases. This study was carried out to determine the infestation rates and variety preferences of Sternorrhyncha (Hemiptera) species found in some temperate fruit species in Igdir province, Türkiye, in 2023–2024. The study was conducted in 37&#xa0;orchards containing apple, plum, apricot, cherry, peach, and nectarine trees, in both single-species and mixed orchards. Samplings were carried out according to the Lazarov and Grigorov (<CitationRef CitationID="CR47">1961</CitationRef>) method in randomly selected orchards. As a&#xa0;result of the study, <i>Quadraspidiotus perniciosus</i> Comstock (Diaspididae), <i>Sphaerolecanium prunastri</i> Boyer de Fonscolombe (Coccidae), <i>Eriosoma lanigerum</i> (Hausmann), <i>Hyalopterus pruni</i> (Geoffroy), <i>Myzus persicae</i> Sulzer, <i>Pterochloroides persicae</i> (Cholodkovsky) (Aphididae) species belonging to the suborder Sternorrhyncha (Hemiptera) were identified in the orchards. Orchard, village, district and provincial infestation rates were determined. It was found that 54.05% of the orchards were infested with Sternorrhyncha species. Variety preferences of the species were also revealed. In the light of the results obtained, issues such as where the new orchards should be established and which fruit species should be planted in the orchards were put into practice.</p>
