<p>Persimmon (<i>Diospyros kaki</i>), adaptable beyond temperate climates, is typically propagated by grafting onto <i>D.&#xa0;lotus</i> (date-plum) rootstocks. Despite its resilience to cold and drought, the species faces challenges due to limited seed production, low seed viability, and lengthy dormancy periods, causing delays and uneven growth when sown in nursery beds. In this study, at the Horticultural Research and Training Station in Kandaghat, Solan (HP), India, 28&#xa0;treatment combinations, including various growing media and gibberellic acid levels, were investigated using a&#xa0;randomized block design. Key findings revealed that M<sub>4</sub> (sand + cocopeat + farmyard manure [FYM] in a&#xa0;1:1:1 ratio) excelled with high seed germination (53.69%), tall seedlings (74.20 cm), thick stems (12.38 mm), and robust primary roots (14.09 mm). M<sub>6</sub> (cocopeat + FYM in a&#xa0;1:1 ratio) produced lengthy primary roots (24.17 cm), numerous secondary roots (23.21), and extensive secondary root growth (16.24 cm). Among gibberellic acid (GA<sub>3</sub>) levels, GA<sub>3</sub> at 250 ppm resulted in superior seed germination (53.43%), tall seedlings (71.78 cm), thick stems (12.00 mm), and vigorous primary and secondary root development. The M<sub>4</sub>G<sub>3</sub> combination (sand + cocopeat + FYM in a&#xa0;1:1:1 ratio with GA<sub>3</sub> at 250 ppm) excelled across several parameters, including seedling height (84.92 cm), survival rate (82.50%), graftable size (77.33%), and biomass. Additionally, M<sub>6</sub>G<sub>3</sub> (cocopeat + FYM in a&#xa0;1:1 ratio with GA<sub>3</sub> at 250 ppm) exhibited abundant secondary roots (26.67) and substantial dry root weight (57.17 g). This study provides valuable insights for optimizing persimmon rootstock seedling production.</p>
