Efficient Water Management Tactics for Mitigating Fruit Crop Diseases
摘要
Effective water management is crucial for maintaining health and productivity of fruit crops by addressing challenges posed by soil pathogens. The presence of pathogens can lead to significant crop losses and decreased fruit yield and quality. Implementing appropriate water management strategies and the use of advanced irrigation technologies enable precise water application and reduce the risk of pathogen proliferation. Factors such as foliage wetness duration, soil moisture, and environmental conditions play pivotal roles in various disease cycles, including spore formation, pathogen survival, and dispersal to new hosts. Irrigation stands as a vital cultural practice in disease management, especially within the context of eco-friendly agriculture. Extensive research has explored the relationship between water application technology, irrigation methods, and their direct impact on plant diseases. Water management profoundly influences disease incidence and progression rates across a spectrum of plant patho-systems, spanning from leaf diseases to root wilting. This review underscores the importance of adopting efficient water management tactics to minimize the impact of soil pathogens on fruit crops, ensuring both yield stability and produce quality.
