摘要

The study deals with the simultaneous observation of two juveniles of Lanner Falcon (Falco biarmicus feldeggii), in the Italian provinces of Pesaro and Urbino (Marches region) and Chieti (Abruzzo region). In addition to reporting the significant presence of the subspecies, the identical trophic activity is surveyed, essentially focussed on orthoptera and due to the characteristics of both observation sites, which are partly influenced by climate change. In particular, one of the two individuals hunted and fed for 5 days exclusively on Calliptamus italicus, despite the presence of other prey. The characteristics of the two trophic areas, which have not been widely studied for Lanner, are evaluated. Finally, the fundamental importance of the management of mowed arable land and ploughing times for the protection of the population of the subspecies in central–northern Italy is highlighted.
