First report of anthracnose of Curcuma alismatifolia caused by Colletotrichum curcumae in Japan
摘要
In 2023, leaves and flower bracts with brown spots and black specks were observed on Curcuma alismatifolia (Siam tulip) in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. A fungus isolated from diseased leaves was identified as Colletotrichum curcumae based on morphological characteristics and molecular analysis of ITS, ACT, CHS-1, GAPDH, and TUB2 sequences. Pathogenicity tests confirmed that C. curcumae was the etiological agent of the disease. This report is the first on Siam tulip anthracnose (tanso-byo) caused by C. curcumae in Japan.
