First report of Aphanomyces cochlioides causing damping off of quinoa

From September to October 2021, severe damping off was found on quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) in a commercial hydroponic system in Hokkaido, Japan. The causal isolate was conclusively identified as Aphanomyces cochlioides. As far as we know, this is the first report of quinoa damping off caused by A. cochlioides.
