摘要

This paper introduces the hitherto relatively unknown German physician Joseph Schneider, who in 1852/1853 in the first book of a two-volume monograph, presented the knowledge on epilepsy at that time (“On falling sickness”) and supplemented it with his own experiences. He undoubtedly deserves a place in the history of epilepsy.
