摘要

This article presents two cases of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) in childhood with self-limiting epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes (SeLECTS), of which one case was confirmed at autopsy and one was probably SUDEP due to the lack of an autopsy. These cases are discussed in the context of the current literature on SUDEP in childhood and with the published cases of SUDEP with SeLECTS. The genetic scientific background currently does not provide enough data to give clear diagnostic recommendations. Finally, the question of treatment and nocturnal monitoring will be the point of ongoing further discussions. A systematic recording of all pediatric SUDEP cases would be desirable to answer the open questions.
