摘要

Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is a rare but important gynecological disease affecting women of reproductive age, with far-reaching psychological, social and health-related consequences. Despite advances in medical knowledge the care provided to many affected women remains suboptimal. Delays in diagnostics and initiation of treatment, inconsistent treatment pathways and insufficient attention to long-term consequences characterize the current clinical practice. This article aims to highlight the current state of care for women with POI, to present new evidence-based approaches to optimize the management and proposes practical recommendations for improving care.
