Study of the physical dynamics and classification of Santa Elena Bay tropical estuary using mathematical models
摘要
Tropical estuaries play a fundamental role in the preservation of numerous species. They are also regions of sediment and contaminant accumulation, and various tourism and economic activities develop around them. There are few studies on the physical dynamics of tropical estuaries, particularly in the case of Central America. The purpose of this work is to study the dynamics of a tropical estuary; the Santa Elena Bay, through dimensional parameters. This study calculates the vertical eddy viscosity coefficient for Santa Elena Bay on the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, using a mathematical model and comparing the results with measurements of residual circulation.
