<p>Digital technology has profoundly transformed the cultural experience. In contrast to the static and passive characteristics of traditional cultural experience, digital technology renders cultural engagement more dynamic and interactive, fostering children’s interest in active exploration and learning through bidirectional information exchange. This study proposes OrigamiSOUND, a digital musical instrument designed for a multisensory interactive experience intended to immerse children in the culture of traditional Chinese musical instruments. Two tests were conducted to assess the effectiveness of OrigamiSOUND. The System Usability Scale, Engagement Scale, and Behavioral Analysis were employed to assess the usability of OrigamiSOUND, while a Paired Samples t-test was conducted to analyze the score differences in pre- and post-cultural awareness, thereby validating the effectiveness of children’s learning through OrigamiSOUND. The results demonstrated that: (1) children were successfully engaged with traditional Chinese musical instruments through OrigamiSOUND; (2) OrigamiSOUND contributed to enhancing children’s awareness of Chinese traditional musical instrument culture. OrigamiSOUND provides a concrete reference for the application of digital technology in cultural heritage design and investigates innovative methods for the popularization and transmission of traditional culture among children.</p>
