摘要

Purpose

In recent years, gamification has driven significant behavioral changes in various domains, like education, health, and rehabilitation. The transformative potential encompasses tackling the diverse challenges and accessibility issues that individuals with disabilities face. This research aims to explore the potential impact of gamification on accessibility issues for persons with disabilities.

Methods

Utilizing PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic review and metaanalysis) method, we conducted a thorough literature review across seven databases. The analysis, grounded in 53 identified articles, forms the basis for our research.

Results

The study found that gamification is particularly effective in addressing neurodevelopmental disorders, blindness, and visual impairments, improving the learning and rehabilitation processes of persons with disabilities. However, significant gaps remain, including the need for comprehensive assessment frameworks and better integration with emerging technologies like artificial intelligence to personalize experiences for disabled individuals.

Conclusion

Although gamification has shown potential in addressing accessibility challenges for persons with disabilities, a more balanced perspective is required. This research emphasizes the need for a focused approach to gamification to recognize its potential benefits as well as to address existing gaps and advocate for its integration with evolving technologies to create more inclusive and customized experiences.
