<p>This study investigated the factors that affected production intentions among batik producers applying natural dyes. Survey both online form and paper-based questionnaires. The participants were one year of experience natural dye batik producers in Indonesia. Natural dye batik production intentions were measured using 23 measurement items and analyst based on several factors including environmental concern, environmental knowledge, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and their relationships. The instrument content validity evaluated by three experts, comprising two batik experts and one expert in psychological measurement had a high content validity index of 0.89. There was a total of 209 valid responses of batik producers. Partial least squares path modelling method was applied in data analyses with the aid of the SmartPLS statistical program. Analysis of variance inflation factor (VIF) was used for common method bias testing, Factor loadings, composite reliability (CR), and average variance extract (AVE) were applied for reliability and validity testing of the measurement model, whereas heterotrait-monotrait ratio (HTMT) was used to measure discriminant validity. The results showed that producers’ attitudes and intentions to utilise natural dyes in batik production were most significantly affected by environmental knowledge. Increasing environmental concern and environmental knowledge also contributed to the producers’ confidence in the economic value and long-term sustainability of natural dyes batik products. In the meantime, this work confirmed the insignificant effect of producers’ concern about the importance of environmental issues towards their attitudes. Moreover, perceived behavioural control also not significantly determined the intention to produce natural dye batik.</p>
