摘要

The rapid economic growth in developing countries lead to extensive construction activities that possibly cause a large amount of waste. Consequently, essential methods for effective waste management sustainability at railway construction sites during the construction phase have to be conceived. This study aims to develop a practical waste management guideline based on a case study, which is intended to be adaptable to similar railway construction projects. Qualitative data were accumulated from semi-structured and in-depth interview with twelve regal-administrators, consultants, and contractors. They have been working as an engineer, manager, and supervisor for more than ten years in the railway construction field. The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Orange Line project in Bangkok, Thailand, was investigated to complete the objective. The results revealed that the effective waste management methods are standardised construction materials, appropriate procurement of materials, clear scope of work and complete design, and thorough study of drawing, respectively. The stakeholders can develop effective plan for sustainability waste management within certain specified boundaries and restrictions.
