<p>This study evaluates poultry manure management practices in Morocco, focusing on its physico-chemical and microbiological characteristics, as well as the socio-economic factors influencing these practices. The main objective is to use multivariate analyses to understand the relationship between these parameters to optimise manure management, taking into account farmer profiles. In a context where manure recycling is poorly regulated, the results indicate worrying management practices: 63.1% of farmers use service providers, 14.3% spread untreated manure directly on their land and 11.9% sell it to informal transporters, which is often used to feed livestock farms during Eid Al-Adha, in violation of current legislation. Physico-chemical analyses revealed the manure's agronomic potential (P: 23.35&#xa0;g kg<sup>−1</sup>; Ca: 35.84&#xa0;g kg<sup>−1</sup>; K: 26.21&#xa0;g kg<sup>−1</sup>), but worrying levels of microbiological contamination, particularly by E. coli and Salmonella (4.74 × 10⁹ CFU/g). Logistic analysis showed that farmers with a higher level of education were 4.43 times more likely to use good management practices (<i>p</i> = 0.035). Principal component analysis (PCA), which explained 72.2% of the total variance, identified two distinct profiles: laying hen farms, which are often untrained, have high levels of contaminants, whereas broiler farms, which are generally better supervised, have more effective practices. These results underline the importance of training, awareness and strict regulation to improve manure management and limit its environmental and health impacts.</p>
