摘要

Integrating scientific knowledge and adaptive management practices can optimize the effectiveness of conservation strategies. Here, we explore the importance of inter-institutional and transdisciplinary partnerships in addressing environmental challenges through a Brazilian conservation project that assesses flagship species to establish an ecological corridor. This project represents a collaborative initiative between researchers, environmental managers, and local communities to promote biodiversity conservation in a region between protected areas and private property. We discuss the main lessons learned from the project, highlighting how effective collaboration between different actors can serve as a model for other conservation initiatives in similar regions. We also recommend some conservation policies and practices that promote inter-institutional cooperation and the use of scientific data in decision-making.
