<p>Renewable energy sources are implemented to establish charging stations for recent advancements in electric vehicles. The difficulties are grid connection and power distribution in distant areas. Employing charging stations that are powered by renewable energy sources solar and wind with suitable converters and the effects of individual charging stations located at considerable distances are explored. The features of hybrid renewable energy sources for electric vehicle charging stations are investigated. These aspects include energy distribution, storage, and maintenance to ensure that the appropriate charging station is available when it is required. The review paper addresses facilitating the process of making precise decisions regarding power supply and storage with incorporation of renewable energy, the interconnection of charging stations, the monitoring of energy demand based on the internet of things (IOT), the use of bi-directional converters for transmission to charging stations, and the utilization of artificial neural networks and optimization algorithms. The review points out that intelligent energy management frameworks are more effective at making systems reliable, efficient and responsive to both fluctuating renewable output and fluctuating demand. It is clear from comparative analyses that such innovative methods help achieve greater efficiency and lower costs than conventional approaches. Moreover, the analysis points out possible difficulties, requiring standardized ways to send data, flexible interconnections and powerful data analysis for easy connection with smart grids and vehicle-to-grid functions</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
