<p>This paper presents an extensive overview of the Special Issue of the Clean Technology and Environmental Policy (CTEP) journal, dedicated to showcasing advanced research and innovative contributions in the fields of clean technology and sustainability. The issue incorporates a carefully curated selection of research articles originating from the 18th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water, and Environment Systems (SDEWES), which took place from September 24–29, 2023, in Dubrovnik, Croatia. This conference serves as a renowned platform for researchers and practitioners to present cutting edge advancements and solutions aimed at promoting sustainable development across multiple sectors. Aligned with CTEP’s commitment to disseminating high-quality research, the guest editors of this Special Issue extended invitations to the authors of 35 distinguished research articles presented during the SDEWES 2023 conference. These invited articles underwent a rigorous peer-review process to ensure their alignment with the journal’s stringent quality standards and the thematic scope of the Special Issue. Following this thorough evaluation, 18 outstanding papers were selected for publication. These papers collectively represent a diverse array of topics, methodologies, and findings, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the SDEWES community’s work. This overview provides a succinct summary of each of the 18 accepted papers, highlighting their key contributions and relevance to the broader field of clean technology and environmental policy. Furthermore, this paper situates these contributions within a broader context by examining the ongoing research efforts of the SDEWES community as documented in previous special issues. Through this comprehensive approach, the overview not only underscores the innovative and impactful nature of the current research but also illustrates the evolution of scholarly efforts within the SDEWES community over time. The insights presented in this Special Issue are anticipated to inspire future research and practical applications, fostering advancements in sustainable development and environmental management practices globally.</p>
