摘要

Hydrogen storage is a critical challenge in advancing hydrogen as a clean energy carrier, and carbonaceous-based sorbents (CBSHS) have emerged as promising candidates due to their high surface area, porosity, thermal stability, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, carbon materials offer significant safety advantages, making them attractive for large-scale hydrogen storage applications. Despite the increasing research interest, comprehensive bibliometric analyses of CBSHS remain limited. This study addresses this gap by conducting an in-depth bibliometric analysis and journal visualization of CBSHS research, utilizing data from 3104 articles published in 54 reputable journals between 1981 and December 31, 2023. Our findings reveal a significant increase in CBSHS research since 1999, with China leading in both research contributions and funding. Notably, only 44.1% of countries worldwide are actively involved in CBSHS research. Additionally, the study identifies a growing trend in integrating machine learning (ML) algorithms to accelerate CBSHS development, signifying a transformative shift in materials discovery and optimization. The findings of this study can enhance understanding in educational contexts, inform industry strategies, guide policy-making, and influence funding decisions in the field of hydrogen storage.
