摘要

Mechanical biological treatment (MBT) is considered as a perspective pre-treatment way for resource utilization of MSW. The mechanical and biological processes involved in MBT lead to the emission of odors, which are harmful to human health and the environment. Odor control received much attention in the MBT treatment plant of MSW. The paper describes the process flow and identifies potential odor emission sources within MBT, then different odor control technologies were reviewed from the working mechanisms to current research status, including physical, chemical and biological treatments, which compares the performance of these technologies in removing different odor substances, delineating their respective advantages and limitations. Finally, the paper discusses the challenges and future research directions in this field. This review underscores diverse odor control methods pertinent to different MBT scenarios, providing valuable insights for effective odor management and cleaner production in the MBT process.
