<p><i>Aeromonas</i> are water- and soil-borne bacteria rarely reported in Bone and Joint Infections (BJIs). In this multicenter cohort of 34 patients, <i>Aeromonas</i> BJIs were frequently associated with open fractures and high complication (62%) including a 41% amputation rate. These findings support considering <i>Aeromonas</i> spp. among potential pathogens following soil- or water-contaminated open fractures in tropical settings.</p>

Aeromonas are water- and soil-borne bacteria rarely reported in Bone and Joint Infections (BJIs). In this multicenter cohort of 34 patients, Aeromonas BJIs were frequently associated with open fractures and high complication (62%) including a 41% amputation rate.
