摘要

Neurological problems in the sense of “disability” of the ABCDE scheme, i.e., D problems, are a frequent concern in the care of critically ill patients in the emergency medical services. Reduced consciousness and acute focal neurological deficits are the most prominent symptoms. As the initially unclear vigilance reduction can occur as a result of many underlying emergency pictures, a structured anamnesis and differential diagnostics are necessary in order to identify critical diagnoses, to develop a possible working diagnosis and to assign the patients to a suitable target clinic.
