Introduction <p>The article “Emergency medicine conferences and journals in Germany—where have all the women gone: reasons for a&#xa0;cultural change.” has shown that women were underrepresented as speakers and editors in the years 2018–2020. In this article, the author analyses whether this has changed in the subsequent years up to 2024 and whether a&#xa0;cultural change with greater participation of women has begun.</p> Methods <p>Comparison of scientific conference programs and of editor lists of emergency medicine journals for the years 2018–2020 and 2023–2024 regarding changes in the proportion of female speakers and editors.</p> Results <p>The situation is inconsistent: while the proportion of women at some specialist conferences, such as the DGINA (<i>Deutschen Gesellschaft für Interdisziplinäre Akut- und Notfallmedizin</i>) conference, rose from 20.9% in 2019 to 37.7% in 2024, at others, such as the AGNNW (<i>Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Notärzte Nordrhein-Westfalen</i>) conference, there was only a&#xa0;marginal rise from 18.9 to 21.2%. The proportion of women on the editorial boards and scientific advisory boards of journals has increased only minimally.</p> Conclusion <p>In addition to initial positive trends at conferences and journals, an increasing awareness of equity and need for more participation is emerging in emergency medicine, supported by a&#xa0;number of initiatives that have been often started by young members of emergency medicine associations. The beginning of a&#xa0;cultural change is visible.</p>
