<p>Bandaging techniques play an important role in acute care and in the prevention of complications. Knowledge of various methods to treat different injuries using appropriate bandaging techniques is essential for those working in emergency medical services and in the emergency department. In this context, infection prophylaxis, comprehensive assessment of additional injuries, tetanus vaccination status and adapted approaches to the placement of bandages are of paramount importance. Properly applied supportive bandages can reduce posttraumatic edema, promote circulation, prevent contractures and alleviate pain. The objective of this work is to provide an overview of the most frequently used wound care methods using different bandaging techniques in emergency medical services and emergency departments, illustrated through selected examples.</p>
