Ansatzpunkte für den Rettungsdienst in Bezug auf das Erkennen, Verhindern und den Umgang mit Angriffen auf Personal aus der polizeilichen Praxis
摘要
Violence against emergency medical services (EMS) personnel while they are performing their duties poses various burdens for those affected.
ObjectivesThe AMBOSafe (“Angriffe auf Mitarbeiter*innen und Bedienstete von Organisationen mit Sicherheitsaufgaben”) study examined several professional groups with a focus on violence experiences. In the current paper, a comparison was made between EMS and the police, whose employees are attacked to a comparable extent as EMS personnel, despite the police being engaged in law enforcement tasks.
MethodsBased on studies, including results of the project AMBOSafe, factors influencing the occurrence of attacks against EMS personnel and the police are identified. Practical approaches to improve the situation are outlined.
ResultsDifferences in attitude, education and training, and working conditions suggest that there should be greater awareness of the potential danger of attacks in the EMS.
ConclusionsAccordingly, strategies for preventing attacks should be provided to EMS personnel, and working conditions should also be analyzed with regard to risk-promoting factors.
