Positivliste Gefäßchirurgie (Operieren in der Schwangerschaft)
摘要
The 2018 amendment to the Maternity Protection Act clarified that surgical procedures are generally possible for pregnant and breastfeeding female doctors following an individual risk assessment. Against this backdrop, an interdisciplinary consensus was reached and a positive list for the field of vascular surgery was drawn up and adopted.
ObjectiveThe positive list specifies which operations and procedures can be safely performed by pregnant and breastfeeding women, provided that appropriate protective measures are taken. It takes the specific risks and requirements of vascular surgery into account, particularly with respect to infection control, radiation exposure and the use of anesthetic gases and is intended as an aid to orientation with a recommendatory character.
MethodsThe consensus paper contains comprehensive information on the Maternity Protection Act, risk assessment, working time regulations and protective measures. For practical implementation in vascular surgery a positive list was created that lists specialist procedures that can be performed safely in compliance with defined protective measures.
ResultsPregnant and breastfeeding vascular surgeons can continue to work in compliance with the Maternity Protection Act, the abovenamed recommendations, the relevant laws and individual protective measures, provided that there is no unacceptable risk. Based on the recommendations in the positive list, most elective procedures, operations and activities in the fields of phlebological surgery, operations on the lymphatic system, revascularization and reconstructive surgery on arteries and veins, limb and border zone amputations, surgery for vascular malformations and regional tumors, placement and correction of tunnelled central venous catheters and port systems and surgical wound care can be performed.
