<p>We present the case of a 73 year old female patient who experienced a cardio-embolic occlusion of the superior mesenteric artery with the embolus protruding into the abdominal aorta. We managed to extract the embolus enovascularly by high volumic vacuum thrombectomy under continuous therapeutic anticoagulation in a state after mechanic mitral valve replacement.</p>
