摘要

Within the framework of vascular medical specialized rehabilitation patients with peripheral arterial obstructive disease (PAOD) have the possibility to learn and sustainably implement vascular-specific sport and exercise therapy in a multiprofessional team trained in vascular medicine and therefore to counteract the progress of the disease. Furthermore, the patients can be educated with respect to secondary prevention and the specific psychological aspects of the disease are also taken into account. Cessation of smoking is an essential component of rehabilitation. An increasing need will promote the development of vascular medical rehabilitation and increase the perception of the health insurance companies. This process is scientifically followed. The aims must be equality of vascular medical rehabilitation with cardiological and neurological rehabilitation and the creation of a remuneration modality through the health insurance companies.
