Chirurgische Therapie der Karotisstenose
摘要
Surgical treatment remains the most commonly used intervention for the treatment of symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis; however, the operative benefit can only be demonstrated when the perioperative complication rate is very low and the postoperative outcome is stable.
This article focuses on the essential clinical and specific surgical aspects, the various surgical techniques over time, major complications and also minor postoperative complications, such as bleeding, peripheral nerve injuries and perioperative management (neuromonitoring, anesthesia, „best medical treatment“ [BMT]).
