Künstliche Intelligenz in der Gefäßchirurgie
摘要
Scientists had already considered several constructs of artificial intelligence (AI) in the first half of the last century. Due to the recent widespread popularity of chatbots and generative AI, these AI-based techniques have rapidly developed in both medical research and clinical use. The majority of cases of application in vascular surgery include machine learning techniques using big data and the prediction of appropriate endpoints to guide clinical decision making; however, it became obvious that the validity of training data and the external validation of AI models developed from them represent a major challenge. Against this background, the legal framework of the European Union has been changing for many years to adapt to the new developments in data-based medicine, whereby an intensive consideration of relevant aspects of the topic and continuous exchange with the overlapping areas involved is important. This review article provides an overview on the topic and some examples of application in vascular medicine.
