摘要

According to the Heat Planning Act, municipal areas in Germany must develop a municipal heat plan. Due to its high efficiency, thermal use of groundwater can play an important role in the decarbonization of the heating and cooling sector. For integration into heat planning, methods are needed that can analyze the feasibility for thousands of systems. This study combines a method for technical feasibility analysis with a method for the spatial optimization of well locations. In addition, an approach for the spatial decomposition of the optimization problem is developed so that the assessment can also be applied to large areas. As a case study, the method was applied in Munich and its utilization in municipal heat planning was demonstrated. The results are used successfully in a wide range of applications, from the strategic to the neighborhood scale, and at the project level.
