Digitale Begleitung der Therapie und Nachsorge beim Mammakarzinom
摘要
Due to multimodal treatment concepts for breast cancer patients with early-stage disease, treatment nowadays leads to complete cure in more than 70–80% of cases. However, the burden can still be enormous. Breast cancer survivors but also patients with metastatic disease face a variety of physiological and psychosocial challenges, often while dealing with the late and long-term effects of intensive therapies. Despite these difficulties, breast cancer patients express a strong desire to actively manage their health. To enable this, education followed by coaching for a sustainable effect is a top priority. There are numerous digital support offers for breast cancer patients; however, these differ significantly in terms of content quality, user-friendliness, and evidence of efficacy. In addition to patient-reported outcomes, which have been used internationally in numerous studies during both treatment and aftercare to detect side effects early and improve symptom control, digital and analog coaching methods are also playing an increasingly important role. All of these approaches have already shown significant and clinically relevant results in randomized controlled trials. The potential of digital support and coaching for breast cancer patients can not only positively impact health-related quality of life but also improve adherence to treatment as well as progression-free and overall survival.
