Operative Konzepte für die Therapie der Endometriose

Surgical treatment of endometriosis is challenging. Its extent can vary from resection of superficial, peritoneal lesions to a multidisciplinary approach with partial resection of bowel, urinary bladder, ureter, and diaphragm. The radicality of surgery should be individually adapted to the patient’s needs and symptoms with some surgical strategies having proven to work effectively. Although surgery alone is rarely the only solution, it certainly can positively affect the further course of the disease.
