摘要

Sleep is a basic human need and plays a central role in maintaining human health. The function of sleep is becoming increasingly better understood, and the cleansing function of the brain, which occurs primarily during sleep, appears to play a central role. We currently distinguish between approximately 70 sleep disorders. In the treatment of insomnia, narcolepsy, and restless legs syndrome, a better understanding of these disorders has led to the development of new therapeutic options that are now finding their way into clinical practice. Sleep also plays a central role in prevention.
