<p>The amendment to the Involuntary Commital Act (Unterbringungsgesetz, UbG), which came into force in Austria on 1&#xa0;July 2023, represents a&#xa0;comprehensive reform. The amendment presents psychiatric departments with additional tasks that require an adjustment of the structural quality.</p><p>The aim of this article is to show what experiences have been gained so far and how the implementation of the law can be promoted in terms of good clinical risk management.</p>
