<p>Regular physical activity (PA) is an established and safe therapy option for people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). To determine the current level of activity as a&#xa0;baseline and for assessing the course of therapeutic interventions, the scientific literature predominantly uses the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), the Godin Leisure Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLTEQ), and motion sensors. The subjective assessment of overall PA using both questionnaires tends to overestimate PA compared to motion sensors. Both the IPAQ and GLTEQ show only weak to moderate correlations in assessing overall PA and different intensity levels with motion sensors in pwMS who have a&#xa0;mild level of impairment. In the few studies examining pwMS who have a&#xa0;higher level of impairment, PA is only inconsistently captured compared to motion sensors. Given the high relevance of PA in MS, the development and validation of an MS-specific PA questionnaire is urgently needed. This questionnaire should consider not only different degrees of impairment but also representative daily activities of pwMS. Furthermore, a&#xa0;standardized application of motion sensors with defined outcome parameters, as well as the validation of thresholds of different PA intensity levels depending on physical impairment, is necessary.</p>
