Entscheidungsfindung beim schweren Schlaganfall
摘要
The treatment of severe stroke in incapacitated patients poses major challenges for healthcare professionals and families. Early involvement of relatives is mandatory to evaluate the patient’s preferences and for shared decision-making. Clearly defined treatment goals should be set. If the prognosis is unclear, time-limited trials can be used to achieve greater prognostic certainty. The treatment goal should be re-evaluated on a regular basis and adjusted accordingly. Two case reports illustrate the trajectory of the disease and the interdisciplinary cooperation between palliative medicine and neurology in severe stroke.
