摘要

Wound management is a critical aspect of care, especially in the case of chronic wounds, which require significant financial and human resources due to their complexity and negatively impact the quality of life of those affected. Digital applications are increasingly offering ways to optimize wound management, such as through standardized wound documentation, AI-supported wound measurement and risk detection, as well as the integration of real-time data from sensors. Some systems also promote interdisciplinary communication. The potential of digital solutions includes more precise and consistent documentation, which facilitates professional recognition and response to changes, while fostering a common language within the interdisciplinary team. The challenges of digital wound management tools include integration into existing workflows, the necessary technical infrastructure, training of nursing staff, and a shift in organizational thinking. One example of the practical application of digital tools for wound management is the “DigiCare4CE” project, which is testing innovative technologies in long-term care facilities.
