<p>In 2024, the Psychoanalysis in Augarten initiative was founded not only to highlight the possibilities of applying psychotherapy, but also to contribute to low-threshold psychotherapeutic care in Austria. This article provides an overview of the psychotherapeutic care gap in Austria and outlines how the aforementioned project can be classified in this context, both theoretically and practically. In view of the positive feedback the initiative has received from the public and the experience gained in the course of implementing Psychoanalysis in Augarten, an outlook is provided on the role of psychotherapy in relation to psychotherapeutic care, but also to social discourse itself.</p>
