摘要

The treatment approach in the day clinic for trauma disorders at the Elisabethinen Hospital in Graz is based on the theory of structural dissociation. The article expounds on the integration of aspects of this theory into the three phases of trauma treatment: stabilization, confrontation, and integration. According to the principles of structural dissociation, complete integration of traumatic experiences is not possible. The development of two or more dissociated personality states, which are referred to as apparently normal and fragile or controlling emotional personality, is a hallmark of this theory. The treatment approach in the day clinic is focused on addressing phobias related to attachment, loss of attachment, and changements. As part of the treatment, patients are given a high degree of co-responsibility for the therapeutic process. They are supported in identifying their own terms for their inner experience and are encouraged to continue outpatient trauma therapy after their stay. The authors conceptualize their work as an integrative endeavor, aiming to foster the establishment of bonds across multiple levels in the context of routine clinical practice.
