Menschlich forschen – menschlich handeln

The assignment of individual methods to the humanistic cluster requires a discussion of their (meta-) theoretical conceptions to develop a common understanding with regard to joint research. We present the epistemological position of critical realism and associated Kurt Lewin’s field-theoretical model to illustrate the understanding of the psychotherapeutic relationship and process derived from it. Because of the critical realist perspective, a specific understanding of phenomenological-experimental research can also be derived.
